The conference is dedicated to the problematics of modernization influence and evolution of religiousness of Russian society in the context of revolution process of the beginning of the XX century and in contrast to objective social, economic and political processes in XX century.

The evolution of management structures (institutions), parochial and missionary practices, organizational forms of monastic life, phenomena of Russian orthodoxy (holiness, eldership, etc.) under the influence of historical processes in contemporary history gives a deeper insight into long-range consequences of the Russian Revolution, including the influence of the processes started by it on the modern image of orthodoxy in Russia.
