Ukraine: 70% of Ukrainians fully trust the Church

The level of trust in the Church has not changed compared to 2020: today, 70% of Ukrainians trust it. These are the results of the survey conducted by the Razumkov Center's Sociological Service. The Church enjoys the highest level of trust in the western region (86%), in the central region it is trusted by 72%, and in the South — by 62%. Only in the Eastern region, the shares of those who trust it and those who do not trust it do not differ statistically significantly (48% and 51%, respectively).

Also, since the beginning of a full-scale war, the level of trust in humanitarian and charitable organizations has significantly increased. While in 2020, they were trusted by 50% of citizens, now they are trusted by 78%. At the same time, among social institutions, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have the greatest trust of Ukrainians — 96% fully or to some extent trust them.

The Ukrainians also trust:

  • humanitarian and charitable organizations (78%),
  • universities (62%),
  • women's organizations (59.5%),
  • government agencies (55%),
  • police (55%),
  • environmental organizations (54%).

The attitude towards the Government of the country is contradictory (51.5% express confidence in it, but not much less, 48% express distrust); the same applies to television (51% and 49%, respectively) and the media (49% and 50%, respectively).

More than 80% of residents of western regions choose the European model of Social Development, and less than 1% prefer the Russian one. Between freedom and security, 52% of Western residents prefer freedom.

The survey was conducted from September 22 to October 1, 2022, using the face-to-face method. 2,021 respondents aged 18 and older living in all Ukraine regions (except the Autonomous Republic of Crimea) were interviewed. statistical error did not exceed 2,3%.
