Ukraine: Prayer marathon of the UGCC brought together more than 190'000 people

On February 24, as part of the All-Church Day of Prayer, Fasting and Alms, Zhyve TV held a 12-hour prayer marathon dedicated to the anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. More than 90,000 people joined in prayer on the Zhyve TV channel on YouTube and about 100,000 on Facebook. This is reported by the UGCC Information Department. The marathon began at 12: 00 Kyiv time with a prayer service at the Patriarchal Cathedral of the resurrection of Christ in Kyiv and ended at midnight in Philadelphia in the United States of America. Kharkiv, Zaporizhia, Odesa, Kherson, Irpen, Melbourne in Australia, Przemysl in Poland, Rome in Italy, Buenos Aires in Argentina, and Winnipeg in Canada took part in the marathon alternately.

Each of the 12 hours of the marathon was dedicated to prayer with a separate intention: for soldiers, chaplains, volunteers, internally displaced persons, wounded, medics, prisoners, war Children, war victims and their relatives, wounded, Ukrainians in the occupied territories, power engineers. According to the UGCC, during all twelve hours, at least 5 thousand worshippers united in prayer live. And a team of fourteen people worked on the marathon itself.

During the marathon, voluntary donations were collected for the development and activities of the patriarchal Foundation "Mudra Sprava", which helps internally displaced persons, socially vulnerable people and those in difficult circumstances.
