Ukraine: OCU Primate calls on religious leaders to respond to Russian terrorist attacks
Metropolitan Epifaniy urged religious and moral leaders worldwide to denounce Russian war crimes, which amount to terror against the peaceful Ukrainian population. He wrote about this on his social media.
"We call on religious and moral leaders around the world to raise their voices and condemn the Russian war crimes — acts of terror against the peaceful Ukrainian population, the deliberate destruction of homes, and the targeting of civilian infrastructure, all aimed at plunging Ukraine into cold and darkness. We urge those in positions of authority globally to take decisive action to compel the Russian regime to stop its state-sponsored terror. We extend our gratitude to all our partners and allies who are working tirelessly for peace and providing Ukraine with vital support in its defense against Russian aggression. May God bless you with success in all your noble efforts!"
The Primate of the OCU also noted that during the recent days when Ukraine celebrated Epiphany, and Russia observed Christmas, Russian forces shelled Kryvyi Rih, Dnipro, and Kyiv, and launched a ballistic missile capable of carrying nuclear warheads at civilian infrastructure in the Lviv region.
"Such actions evoke nothing but disgust and condemnation, not only among Christians but also among all people of goodwill — reminiscent of Herod’s atrocities against the innocent infants of Bethlehem," the Primate emphasized. (Quelle: www.risu.ua, 9. Januar 2026)
