21. November 2024

The Romanian Orthodox Metropolis of Western and Southern Europe (MOREOM) marked its 75th anniversary alongside the patronal feast of the Archangels Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael Cathedral in Paris. Events began 7 November with a pilgrimage to the Paris cathedral, bringing the relic of Saint Nicholas from “St. George-New” Church in Bucharest. The cathedral patronal feast was celebrated 8 November, followed by the Eparchial Assembly of the Archdiocese of Western Europe. 9 November was dedicated to MOREOM’s anniversary, recalling the establishment of the Romanian Orthodox Diocese of Western Europe by Metropolitan Visarion Puiu in September 1949.
