On October 5, the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church held its working session at the Synodal Hall of the Patriarchal Residence in Bucharest. During the session chaired by His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel, the Holy Synod rendered the following decisions: The Holy Synod glorified Metropolitan Joseph Naniescu, with the name of Saint Joseph the Merciful, Metropolitan of Moldavia, with his feast day to be commemorated on January 26. Der Vorstand der Gemeinsamen Arbeitsgruppe der römisch-katholischen Kirche und des Ökumenischen Rats der Kirchen (ÖRK) hat sich vom 24. bis 27. Mai 2018 im rumänischen Târgovişte getroffen und dort die weitere Zusammenarbeit in der Friedensförderung sowie die ökumenischen Herausforderungen und Chancen angesichts von Migration und Flucht besprochen. The Romanian Orthodox Church has expressed dissatisfaction with the transfer of the chapel-tomb of the Bukovyna Metropolitans in Chernivtsi to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
