Am Weltumwelttag, dem 5. Juni, hat der Ökumenische Patriarch Bartholomaios von Konstantinopel ein internationales Symposium unter dem Titel „Toward a Greener Attica: Preserving the Planet and Protecting its People“ eröffnet. Ziel der Konferenz sei, eine „gemeinsame Antwort auf die ökologische Krise“ zu finden und sich dabei für einen „nachhaltigen Planeten als Erbe für alle Menschen und besonders unsere Kinder“ einzusetzen, sagte der Patriarch.

Der Vorstand der Gemeinsamen Arbeitsgruppe der römisch-katholischen Kirche und des Ökumenischen Rats der Kirchen (ÖRK) hat sich vom 24. bis 27.
